To all California Republicans,
I recently received a mass email from Carl DeMaio, the former San Diego City Councilman and conservative radio talk show host.
There is a DESPERATE need for Republicans to volunteer for a redistricting effort.
The email itself:
In 2010 the California Democrats stacked the so-called independent Citizens Redistricting Commission with their stooges and it paid off handsomely with Congressional and State Legislative seats drawn in a way to elect more Democrats. The CA Republican Leaders at the time did nothing to fight for fair maps.
This time YOU can force a FAIR redistricting process and help us win back seats in California.
No, I’m not asking for money (ha – a first!) I’m asking for something more valuable: YOUR TIME.
I want you to seriously consider applying to be one of the Commissioners on the Citizens Redistricting Commission. Politicians (thankfully) cannot serve – but ordinary citizens like you can apply.
The application is pretty simple and it is done online. Your application will be vetted and randomly selected. There’s a good chance you won’t get on the Commission, but if you do YOU will be a big part of fixing California.
I know filling out an application can be a chore, but the Democrats have submitted over 5000 applications statewide so far. Republicans are WAY behind on applicants.
