08-13-2019- Do You Believe In Magic? Will the Democrats end up saving the California Republican Party?
There was a song from the 60's by a band called The Loving Spoonful. Do Yo Believe In Magic? Some say that's what the California Republicans are singing these days. It may or may not be true. In my humble opinion the Republicans lost a large if not huge number of Latinos and Blacks. When? In November 2008, California voters passed Proposition 8, an amendment to the California Constitution. This amendment stated that marriage could only be between one man and one woman. Who supported that? Blacks and Latinos. Republicans Lukewarm.
So what or who can save the Republican Party in California? The lunacy from the Democrat politicians. Open borders, high poverty rate, expanding Medi-Cal for illegals, The high speed railway, homelessness, under performing schools, high taxes, and the list grows.
So how do the Republicans take advantage? Reform schools, fix roads, sensible immigration and gun control. Not new laws but enforcement of those on the books. And last but not least? Go to all the neighborhoods and ask the people what's wrong with the present system.
