09-02-2019- My Opinion. Stop The Lying This Labor Day. Workers Need to Stick Together Now More Than Ever

Congress gave us Labor Day back in 1894.  Here's how it starts out.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of American in Congress assembled, That the first Monday of September in each year, being the day celebrated and known as Labor’s Holiday, is hereby made a legal public holiday.

125 years ago we got this legal holiday and boy have the times changed.  We see so many threats to the American Worker.  Automation, Migration, and Illegals.  Oh we hear how they take jobs that Americans won't do.  And that was the case when you talked about working the farms

Today we see retail, service, and manufacturing are showing more and more illegals.  I've told this story before, but it needs to be retold now more than ever before. The gentleman who put our roof on had a labor force of 11.  All white and black.  Several years later he was in the neighborhood doing another roof.  He told me that he doubled the workforce and cut his payroll in half.  All brown.

In Closing.

In fact, in the face of such threats, workers will have to look to each other for strength, even as they look to political action for needed support.  That was the message on Labor Day 1894, and it’s just as true on Labor Day 2019.
